Six Wellness and Beauty Routines You Should Think About Adopting

Lately I’ve been doing a lot of research about natural remedies and beauty routines. While I’ve been health-conscious for a long time, I’m always learning and adding new things to my health routine. Here are some new discoveries, as well as some of my old favourites!

1. Smoothies For Breakfast

(2) Tsp Coconut Oil
(3) Tsp Chia Seeds
(1) Scoops Trader Joe’s Super Green Drink

This is the smoothie I make every morning. It is packed with vitamins and anti-oxidants. The coconut oil gives me an extra energy boost. 🙂

BENEFITS

Maca Powder:

The benefits of this are still fairly controversial, but from my own experience, this has actually been a really great addition to my morning routine. The healthy fats are good for your brain, and help kick-start fat burning.

3. DIY Face Mask

1/4 banana
a bit of lemon juice
1/4 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp baking soda
BENEFITS:
Bananas have Potassium which moisturises skin, Lectins which fight bacteria/acne, Vitamin A which fades dark spots and blemishes, and reduces appearance of scars. They also have Vitamin B which lightens skin tone, reduces appearance of wrinkles, and prevents ageing, Vitamin E which fights free radical damage, bolsters the skin’s UV resistance, and prevents and reduces appearance of wrinkles.

Lemons have antibacterial properties that help fight acne, and fight against blackheads, they brighten skin tone, and exfoliate by removing dead skin cells.

Baking Soda is amphoteric which means it can act as basic or acidic. It helps to level the natural pH of the skin which helps fight against acne. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties, mild antiseptic properties, and removes oil.

Turmeric helps fight acne, helps eliminate blackheads, heals and prevents dry skin, slows the ageing process, and helps restore skin elasticity.

4. Rose Ice Morning Facial

Boil water and put fresh rose petals in a tea cup, pour in and let steep until cooled. Pour water and petals into an ice tray, let freeze.

BENEFITS:

Ice increases circulation and and tones. Rose is good for skin rejuvenation.

After washing your face in the morning, rub a rose ice cube all over the face. Do not dry, but dab your face with a dry hand towel just enough so that the face is still moist and allow the skin to absorb the rest.

5. Apply Sea Buckthorn Oil to Face

Use sea buckthorn oil in place of a face moisturiser. I really cannot express how much I love this stuff. It leaves your skin glowing and soft.

BENEFITS:

Sea buckthorn oil is abundant in vitamins A, C, E, contains omega 3 and 6, and 7 (which aids in cell regeneration). It helps restore elasticity and moisture to the skin, combats against signs of ageing, heals wounds and helps diminish scars, and is a great remedy for rosacea. It is also great for treating acne as it is an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

Soul Mates. Soul Reminders. Soul Connections.
We hear about it, read about it and some of us are lucky enough to experience it. 

Soul mates differ from life partners. Some people, not ever encountering a soul mate or soul connection, settle down with a life partner. These relationships can be very satisfying. They are often built on mutual trust, respect and friendship.

You see, in life, we have no control over timing and sometimes less control of circumstance. Some cannot wait forever in hopes of encountering a soul mate, so they are satisfied with a mature life-partner relationship. For some it is about survival, security or simple companionship, and the word soul mate does not resonate. The concept may seem flighty, dreamy and unrealistic. Life circumstance, timing, availability, security and many other factors may all influence our relationship choices…

BUT…

Chances are if you are open, ready and blessed enough to meet a Soul Mate in this life time it will happen unanticipated and unexpected. It can feel unsettling, destabilizing and ungrounding because it is a different connection than any other you have had.

There are no words or explanations that can clearly articulate such a connection. It is a magnetic energy, an intuitive knowing and it just seems right. There is no matter of space or time, you have found your way to one another.

Actually, timing and way are quite often terrible. But when it arrives, you know. There is the “I get you feeling.” There is a flow and a rhythm that seems to be guided by something much higher. Sure, a soul mate can remind, inspire and certainly enhance your life but no one can be your happiness — but YOU.Although, one can be prepared.

I’m Not Buying Russell’s Brand of Revolution

A lot of people have been asking me this week what I thought of Russell Brand after his Newsnight interview went viral. When I originally saw it (admittedly while I was multi-tasking), I agreed with everything he said and found his words inspiring. However, now, after closer inspection, I don’t think it was quite what it seemed.

 

I actually found the whole interview quite insidious. I felt it was inflaming social tension with the same old ‘us’ and ‘them’ scenario, and then Russell Brand’s smug face claiming: “we are going to have a revolution, it’s going to happen. I don’t have a flicker of a doubt…this is the end!”

 

And after the revolution we will have “Admin Bods” controlling us from a central-like government in a socially egalitarian society! “

 

“Equilibrium” any one…????

 

What Russell is failing to recognise is that he is playing the same game he seems to be so apathetic about, making the same old mistakes… and we are ALL going to suffer the consequences if we feel we are divided between ‘us’ and ‘them’. Revolution is a bloody affair!

 

What we need right now is a R-Evolution. Where we Re-evaluate our Evolution and do it differently this time.

 

We need to stop playing the blame game and start taking personal responsibility for our own actions.

 

I was given that message by my teacher Don Juanito in 2002, after I had met James Wolfensohn, the World Bank President during the World Summit on Sustainable Development, in Johannesburg. I saw the corruption from the top of the Pyramid and it overwhelmed me. I came out of the meeting hopeless, utterly depressed and defeated but Don Juanito said to me, “Now you have seen what is happening, the very core of the belief system is corrupt and you can’t change a belief system that everyone agrees to, including yourself. All you can do is be the change and only by being the change can you affect change.”

 

While we continue to feed the present system as it is, we cannot change it. As Albert Einstein said “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

 

So life is leading us towards two paths. …One of violent revolution – being incited by the BBC who pre-recorded this video on Newsnight and released it into the mainstream just before the big London demonstration on November 5th, a potentially explosive night by the very nature of its association, and potentially leading to more riots, aggression and death.

 

….or we choose to take the other path of conscious r-evolution, stop blaming and decide to take personal responsibility for what is happening. When we choose that our goal is not to gain political control, monetary wealth nor military power, but rather to promote and protect the welfare of all living beings and to preserve a healthy, flourishing world for future generations life we start seeing life from a much more positive, inspiring and hopeful perspective.

 

We are all in this together. Rather than take the ‘easier’ way out and sustain the present system, whose value system is based on financial profit/debt, consumption and continuous growth, that is creating this ecological, biological and social crisis, we start living consciously, consume less and make choices based on different values that support and preserve life.

 

In the end, each and every one of our individual choices is creating our collective future…

Letting go of Control

All of us have been here at some point. Letting go of control is perhaps one of the most difficult things in life. But if you are trying to control everything, you enjoy nothing. You are unable to live in the present moment. Have you ever thought about that? When you are living in your thoughts, and not with a silent mind which is at peace, you are not living in the present. We are constantly thinking of the past or future to try to calculate our next move. Things that happen to us throughout the day will trigger a memory, which will then remind us of something we have to do in the future, which will then reference us back to our past to learn how to handle the situation better this time. In modern day we seldom make time to just be still and live in the moment.

The times I feel most present and alive are times when I am in nature. It is because I am appreciating something that is beautiful to me, something that is intimately connected with me. I sit in awe and admire, there is no control-battle present in these moments. I am completely content, completely present. That’s why being in nature is always a sort of meditation for me, and I always feel I have so much more energy. I actually have a nice story that pertains to this.

I live in Hong Kong right now. It is a very busy city. There are lots of people rushing around all the time and the public transport is stuffed with people. There is hardly room to breathe sometimes. People control their schedules so tightly, and everything has to be exact. One night I had been working very late and did not get much sleep. A friend of mine was in town that I do not get to see very often and he invited my boyfriend and me to go to the Tai Tam waterfalls. I was extremely tired but something told me I had to go. We made the trip out there which includes a hike of about 15-20mins. When we arrived, even though I was dripping with sweat (the summer in Hong Kong is VERY hot and humid), I felt instantly energised. We swam in the waterfalls and the pools, admired the nature, sunbathed on the rocks, it was incredible. I felt present that whole day, I wasn’t trying to control anything. I felt a deep connection with the nature there and it recharged me better than sleeping a full 8 hours. This is what we need, daily meditations where we let go of control and just allow ourselves to be content.

Let’s all make more of an effort to “let go and let live.”

We are currently in a wonderful time. WE ARE WAKING UP as a species! Can you think of a better time in which to be living? Humanity as a whole is going through a paradigm shift. More and more people are beginning to wake up to their power, their spirituality, their own divinity. I would be willing to bet we will be entering into a time where governments begin to dissolve and things begin to change rapidly. Many spiritually “awake” leaders are saying this, and well, look at the different movements such as “Zeitgeist” and “Thrive” and the likes! We see that our governments can’t be trusted to take care of us, that they only exist to exert power and their own agenda over us, that we are paying for wars, enabling hate, contributing to further separation.

So, how can we apply this paradigm change to our daily lives? With LOVE. The greatest tool to promote change is love. When someone feels love, they feel safe enough to grow, to flower, to change. Instead of letting our egos get in the way when someone tries to hurt us, we can let it go and love them anyways, realising that it is nothing personal. It is only a means to an end, and that end is a desperate attempt at trying to feel better within themselves. What does being spiritually enlightened look like? Quiet confidence (insecurities are loud), acceptance (especially when it is most difficult to accept), radiance of light (let your love radiate from your very skin), having an open heart, and having a tranquil mind (release the need to label, to judge. Just let go and let live, not everyone is exactly like you).

How to Decalcify The Pineal Gland

Hi everyone,

This is a repost (link at the bottom) of an article I found very interesting. The pineal gland is also known as the spiritual Third Eye and controls many functions of our body among them producing our own natural DMT which allows us to dream and have intense spiritual experiences. Hey! I’ve been consuming a LOT of lemon, ginger, and cilantro (coriander) lately, now I know why. 😉 Enjoy!

The primary goal of decalcifying your pineal gland is so that you can begin the process of pineal gland activation and begin the awakening of your third eye.

There are two parts to pineal gland decalcification. The first is to stop any further calcification of your pineal gland which is caused by any lifestyle habits or environmental factors, e.g. flouride, etc. The second step is to work on reducing and removing the existing calcification and help to further develop your pineal gland.

Below we will go through the methods you can take to achieve these two steps.

STEP 1 – Stop further calcification of your Pineal Gland

The key to stopping further calcification of your pineal gland is to firstly identify what causes calcification, and then secondly stopping these sources. Generally speaking, it is a person’s diet (food/drink) and lifestyle that causes calcification.

Below is a list of the primary causes of calcification:

Halides:

Halides are chemical substances such as Flouride, Chlorine and Bromide. They all seem to have similar effects on the pineal gland, so it’s important to remove these from your diet.

Flouride is the most common and widespread in our diets. It is magnetically attracted to the pineal gland more so than any other part of the body. Here it forms calcium phosphate crystals which accumulate. Fluorideis present in toothpastes and tap water. It’s a heavy duty poison and should be avoided at all costs as it calcifies the pineal tissue and basically shuts the gland down. Switch to a fluoride-free toothpaste and drink spring water or filtered water (see ‘Tap Water’ section below for more information).

Calcium:

Calcium supplements – This is one of the biggest causes of calcification, they don’t really work so if you’re taking them it’s recommended that you stop immediately.

Calcium in food – Pretty much all processed food contains some form of calcium. These forms include calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate and dicalcium phosphate. Many supplements contain these as content fillers also.

Tap Water:

Tap water contains many calcifying substances (including fluoride as mentioned above). The safest and most healthiest choice is spring water as distilled water can be harmful in the long run. Nevertheless, distilled water is still much better than tap water.

Mercury:

Mercury is very bad for the pineal gland due to its poisonous nature. It should be avoided at all costs. Mercury tooth fillings are pineal toxins and should be removed. Also all medical vaccines are tainted with mercury, e.g. Thimersal (a vaccine preservative made of methyl mercury) is very difficult to get out of the brain once it’s in there. Avoid eating fish and bottom feeders such as shrimps and prawns. Tuna and dolphin meat is particularly bad as it contains higher doses of mercury. Generally speaking, the bigger the fish, the higher the concentration of mercury in its body tissue. Eco light bulbs should also be used with care, as if one is smashed mercury vapour is released into the room and inhaled. The good news is that mercury can be removed from the body by the daily use of chlorella, wheatgrass and spirulina, it just takes time. Cilantro herb taken daily can help remove mercury from brain tissue too.

Pesticides:

Some pesticides are pineal toxins so foods grown using these pesticides should be avoided. Therefore, fresh organic food that hasn’t used chemical pesticides is recommended instead. Organic healthy food with a high ratio of raw foods (Raw Diet) is supportive to pineal detoxification.

Due to the food chain passing these chemical pesticides on, certain meats can accumulate these chemicals. Some people recommend meat free diets also to protect your pineal gland from potential harmful substances.

Other toxins:

If something is toxic and not naturally produced by nature, do not put it in your body. If you can’t say the chemical’s name, it’s most likely bad for you. Other toxins include artificial sweeteners (aspartame K) , refined sugar, phylenanine (in fruit squashes), E numbers, deodorants, cleaning chemicals, dental mouthwashes (saltwater is suffice) and air fresheners.

Sugar, Caffeine, Alcohol and Tobacco (S.C.A.T.):

As a general point, a diet free of Sugar, Caffeine, Alcohol and Tobacco (S.C.A.T.) will not only flush the system, but it will also bring about the “kundalini” rising and ensure you have a great balanced mind/body. The diet must be maintained for at least 2 months. The longer you maintain the diet along with exercise, you’ll find that your energy level will increase and excess pounds will fall away leaving your brain clear from toxins. This gives you the capacity to focus on pineal gland activation.

STEP 2 – Remove existing calcification within your Pineal Gland

Removing the build up of years of toxic build up in your pineal gland can be achieved with some dedication and commitment.

There are a number of ways to decalcify your pineal gland, below is a list of them along with what you would need to do:

Organic Blue Ice Skate Fish Oil:

One of the most powerful natural substances you can take to decalcify your pineal gland. It contains a very powerful substance called “Activator X” discovered by Weston Price. See below for more information about “Activator X”.

SM:

Very powerful for general detoxification. It is also good for your hair, skin, nails and building bones. Start with a comfortable dose and work your way up to around 7,000-10,000mg per day. Citric Acid:

Raw lemon, juiced and consumed is very good at detoxifying your pineal gland. Citric acid also works, but raw lemon juice is recommended. It’s recommended that you take 3 tablespoons of citric acid or 7 organic lemons every day on an empty stomach for three weeks. You can also do this by mixing it with spring water as citric acid isn’t so good for your teeth.

Garlic:

Garlic is amazing for decalcification because it is able to dissolve calcium and acts as an antibiotic. Added benefits are it gives your immune system a kick start. Consume around half a bulb to two bulbs daily (or more if you like). To ensure your breath doesn’t scare anyone off, you can crush the garlic and soak in raw apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice to deodorise it. Make sure you put the used lemon juice or vinegar on a salad or re-use it for other foods later. Don’t let anything go to waste.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar:

Very good for detoxification of your pineal gland, as it contains malic acid. It’s great to put on your food and tastes great. A recommended brand is Braggs apple cider vinegar, and make sure it’s raw. Generally speaking, vinegars should be sold in glass bottles, so if it’s not in one, don’t buy it as you’ll be consuming plastic too!

Oregano oil and Neem extract:

Acts as a natural antibiotic against the calcium shells that nanobacteria create around themselves in the pineal gland.

Activator X (Vitamin K1/K2):

Discovered by Weston Price, it is a super potent detoxifier, especially when mixed with Vitamin A and D3, and has many properties. It can reverse the process of arteriosclerosis, allowing the enzymatic balance to be restored. This then allows for the calcium to be removed from the arteries and other locations (i.e. pineal gland) and placed where it belongs, in the bone. It is also a potent catalyst for vitamin and mineral absorption.

The vitamin occurs naturally in two forms:
K1 (phylloquinone) is found in green leafy vegetables
K2 (comprised of menaquinones) is created by intestinal microflora and also obtained from food sources such as organ meats, liver (goose/chicken are best), egg yolks, fermented dairy products like cheese or butter (from cows eating rapidly growing green grass), Japanese fermented soybean dish Natto (the richest K2 food source), sauerkraut, marine oils, fish eggs and shellfish.

Boron:

Boron is another detoxifier and pineal gland cleanser. It also works well as a fluoride remover. It is present in beets and best consumed by eating organic beets or trying beet powder mixed with spring water or other liquids/foods. You could try adding 1/4 tsp of sodium borate (Borax) to your green teas. An inexpensive source of boron can be purchased in most supermarkets as common borax. Borax should be taken in very small quantities in pure water, with as little as 1/32 to 1/4 of a teaspoon of borax to one liter of water. This mixture should be consumed in small quantities throughout the day has been found to be safe and effective. About 1/8 of a teaspoon with a pinch of sea salt has been found to be effective too. Another alternative to common borax is food grade sodium borate.

Melatonin:

It has not been proven conclusively, but many believe that melatonin helps remove fluoride by increasing decalcification of the pineal gland which helps breakup the existing calcification. In addition to melatonin supplementation, plenty of daytime physical activity and/or exercise, a healthy diet, not overeating and meditation/relaxation exercises all contribute to higher melatonin production from the pineal gland.

Iodine:

Iodine has been clinically proven to increase the removal of sodium fluoride from the body via the urine as calcium fluoride. Most diets are deficient in this vital mineral and it is recommended that people take seaweed foods and iodine supplements that combine iodine and potassium iodide. However, eliminating fluoride with iodine also depletes your supply of calcium. It is therefore recommended that you also take an effective calcium/magnesium supplement. To compliment the intake of iodine, it is recommended that lecithin is consumed too.

Tamarind:

The pulp, bark, and leaves from the tamarind tree can be used to make teas, extracts and tinctures that will help eliminate fluorides through the urine. Tamarind is widely used in Ayurvedic Medicine and has many positive health properties.

Distilled Water:

The site also takes about drinking urine. I know it sounds crazy, but our urine today is polluted due to our poor diets hence why it smells, etc. The thinking behind it is that clean urine during a raw diet is healthy and acts as a powerful cleansing agent. The Crystal Skulls

If you’ve seen the newest Indiana Jones movie, you’ll know where this post is headed. In ancient cultures there are legends of the crystal skulls in existence and their spiritual properties. The movie below includes an account from a direct descendant of the mayans, in which he tells us the legend that the gods descended from the heavens with a crystal skull that included the knowledge of the universe and of living an enlightened life.

He says the mayans spent much time in meditation with the skull and it taught them many things, among those how to create others. The legend says there are 13 in existence.

Now, knowing that the mayans had unbelievable and impossible knowledge of the inner-workings of the cosmos, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say they gained their knowledge from an outside source.

Could these skulls help modern-day man to reconnect with the energy of the universe?

Studies have been conducted (shown in the movie below) in which someone touches the crystal skulls and a specialist measures the energy being transferred from the skull to the person with thermal cameras. The energy level changes significantly.

Now, if you are planning on watching this video, please take everything with a grain of salt. It is a bit overdone, and includes a lot of “doomsday” talk. The end of the mayan calendar, according to most specialists, signifies a change of paradigm, not the end of the world. And look around you, many people are beginning to wake up. A lot more people are becoming open-minded, seeing that war is not the answer, seeing that dividing ourselves does not help but hinders our progress as a species, more people are looking for answers in meditation and the spiritual realm, etc. That said, this movie includes some very interesting information and is a fun watch.
